Following reports and observations of vehicle idling outside Chingford Foundation School. Waltham Forest Council organised the following measures during the first week back to school;

·       A letter to parents about the impacts of vehicle idling

·       Environmental Enforcement Officers to patrol at drop-off and pick-up times - they have the power to issue fixed penalty notices to idling vehicles however the goal was to be visible and issue warning as a deterrent.

·       An Air Quality Officer on site at drop-off and pick-up times collection to engage with idling drivers.
