Promote responsible behaviour on public transport
Our story
Pupils are given specific instructions about travelling on public transport when they are on trips using public transport (see other activity). Teachers instruct the boys to be considerate to others and supervise pupils to ensure this instruction is understood and followed. The need for responsible behaviour on public transport is considered as part of the risk assessments for these specific trips.
More generally, all boys have an 'Expectations and Behaviour' document which forms part of their school diary/ log book. This includes a section on being 'out and about', including on public transport. The guidance given includes "being aware of those around you at all times and remember you are representing your school' and also to thank drivers at the end of a trip.
