The children's centre team wanted to get involved in encouraging helathier lifestyles amongst their families and encouraging more active forms of travel.  Over a one week period they spoke to all parents that came into stay and play and parents suggested a variety of ideas which included, more participation in the Keep Fit, Keep Healthy Class, encouraging a meeting point for parents to walk to stay and play together, walking to the park after stay and play, forest school activites and visits to parks.  Following this the team planned in a few trips to local parks, calling it 'Visiting Local Green Spaces'.  The staff parents and children visited, Glade Lane Park, Osterley Park and Hanwell Zoo.  Most visits involved walking to and from and the Hanwell Zoo included using the bus or the train.  One parent said 'I will definitley come back to Hanwell Zoo now I know where it is and how to get here'.
