Year 4 decided to visit the National Portrait Gallery and decided to promote our school's ethos of choosing healthy, safe, sustainable methods when travelling.  The children walked and used the underground system.  Prior to the trip a letter was sent to parents and the lead teacher applied to School Party Travel Scheme. Transport for London issued tickets.  Teachers briefly revisted Road safety lessons from November and talked to children about travelling safely and respectfully when using public transport.  The trip was successful and a total of 13 children had their first experience of being on the underground.  They look forward to more class trips using public transport.Class teachers will cintinue tio use public transport for trips when possible.
