Our local police service came in to hold workshops with KS2 on crime and gangs. There’s a high level of fear of crime in the community. It was a successful as knowing about these things can help with Y6 transitions to school. Following results from surveys currently the majority of Y6 tactively travel to school. Half of the Y6 cohort will live close enough to their highschool and will acitively travel. wChildren understood to go home straight away due to high levels of theft in the area, especially later in the evenings when walking home. The workshop also spoke about if children were to take a bus they should stay on the bottom deck to keep safe. The results of this will ensure community safety walking to and from school.
