Communicating with parents/carers
Our story
During October there was a big push by the Junior Travel Wardens to discourage drivers from parking on the zig zag lines. It was brought to our attention by many of the parents that while the Traffic Wardens were being successful the problem had simply moved to a cul de sac close to the school. Drivers were seen to be reversing into a main road and parking on the zebra crossing thereby making it very dangerous for parents and children who were walking, cycling and scooting. It was decided by the Travel Team that a polite notice should be placed in the October Newsletter thanking the drivers for not parking on the zig zags but asking them to observe the highway code when parking elsewhere. There was also a note to encourage them to walk, take public transport or to park well away from the school.
