The head teacher after having talked with our board of governors asked me to set up a meeting with the head teacher, the Mencap manager and the SEND transport team from Ealing council. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the needs of our learners and in particular travel training more of those on transport to become independent travellers. I have found that many parent/carers are reluctant to engage with myself or the Mencap trainers as they prefer the safety of sending their children to school on borough transport.

It was decided that parent/carers would be spoken to at the annual review so thay could discuss any concerns and have their questions answered so travel training could commence and there would be less students on borough transport.
