KS3 residential day out
Our story
Due to covid many residiental trips stop through the school. In addition the school needed to also begin to consider the cost living crisis, as well as the change in ability of the new cohort.
Not wanting students to miss out the Key Stage 3 department had a meeting to discuss how they could support young people with experiencing being away from home and independence.
The outcome of this meeting was to have an overnight stay at school, with a day out using public transport to support independance around packing a bag, getting change/showered and wihtin travel. This gave the students an opportunity to practice skills around travel they had been learning about through PSHE and other subjects.
The trip was a success the students enjoyed being on the train and walking to Holland park where they played all day!
