Havering's senior transport planning officer (Elaine Keeler), conducted an assembly for Year 5 pupils to launch the JTA scheme.  Children were informed about the role and the responsibilities they would have. 

All Year 5 pupils were provided with an application form for them to apply for the position.  They have been asked about their interests, why they want to be a JTA and what would make them a good choice. 6 children will then be choosen. 

They will be meeting regularly to promote active travel and road safety to their peers through a range of activities.
