Public transport for school trips -
Our story
We have started to use buses and trains this year for some trips with the free tfl travel scheme. All journeys risk assessed and students get a talk. We will follow covid rules and promote these to our families.
Some trips we have made as an example are:
Year 2 went to the Monument and the Guildhall as part of their study of the Great Fire of London.
The children walked to Maryland and took the train to Stratford, from there they took the train to bank and then explored the city of London. The day was very enjoyable because they went on a tour of the Guildhall followed by a visit to the Monument and they climbed 316 steps and were given certificates. The children were sensible and followed all the rules necessary to stay safe and they were pleased with the completely free visit.
