Bikeability training
Our story
Year 6 children were all invited to take part in Richmond's Bikability Level 2 - a five session course of cycle training that took place at risk assessed locations on local roads near to Hampton Junior School. There were two 2 a number of sessions spread over two weeks. Children received a Level. 2 certificate / badge if they passed. The Course covered the following areas: Checking bike safety and helmet / clothing check; Cycle safely and responsibly; Identify and respond to hazards; Start and stop on-road journeys; Maintain suitable riding positions; Share the road with others and communicate with other road users; Comply with signals, signs and road markings; Manage risk when cycling; Negotiate junctions (pass side roads, turn at T junctions, and crossroads and roundabouts if present).
