Our story

On the 15th Jan 2020 local community and parent volunteers attented training run by Borough Project Officer Jack Alexander,  GLA and Carol Lee, LBRuT to undertake the necessary training to be able to talk to drivers about engine idling. We split into groups to wait by the 3 level railway crossings in Barnes to speak to drivers. We aslo collaborated with our after schools partner Fit For Sport to run an after school club where parent's children could be looked after to free up parents to do the training. Children who attended the after school club enjoyed an air quality themed afternoon incorporating the AQ games on loan from the borough. Members of the local community donated biscuits and served hot drinks to our volunteers. 625 drivers and pedestrians were spoken to and it was a very sucessful event.
