Working in partnership with local police
Our story
On 27th April, the officers from the Metropolitan Police visited the school discuss road safety. The officers did a workshop informing the pupils about the police national computer checks; giving them information about consequences of speeding and reasoning behind why the speed limit is 20mph on the roads. This workshop helped to raise awareness of the dangers of speeding, making our streets more welcoming places to spend time. The officers also took the pupils around the local area where they had an opportunity to speak to the members of public about watching their speed and being safe on the roads. The officers also discussed with the pupils about the drivers who are caught speeding and pulled over by police officers being given the option of receiving a fixed penalty fine and points on their license, attending a speeding awareness course or being told off by children and a council staff member.
