The school particpated in the Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel, the UK’s largest inter-school cycling, walking, wheeling and scooting challenge. The aim is for as many children as possible to have an active journey. The school communicated, promoted and informed all the parents about the event so they could encourage their child(ren) to walk, use a wheelchair, scoot or cycle to school on as many days as possible during the event. Teh school remiended the families that an active journey to school is a great way to build physical activity in children’s daily routine, which in turn is important for their physical health and mental wellbeing. As a result of this, the schoool's overall position is 27 out of the hundreds of primary schools taking part in the programme- which is a huge achievement.
