For the first two years Ada Lovelace was based on William Perkin site whilst the new building was being built.

As the nodal point for admissions was near the permanent site many students lived a long way from the school so active travel such as walking or cycling wasn't so possible.

It was therefore important to promote using public transport to new Year 7 students and their parents at the Year Ahead meeting and in assemblies. We were keen to avoid lots of students travelling to school by car.

Students living near to each other (we had a third of the intake from one primary school) were encouraged to travel together and given information about safe travel.
