Promote responsible behaviour on public transport
Our story
To to promote responsible behaviour on public transport, we put on an assembly following the structure of the one provided in the TFL STARS portfolio. This was alos a chance for us to advertise the work that our TFL STARS students were doing and the upcoming events within the school. The assemblies were presented to each year group in their weekly year assemblies. This meant that all students in the school saw the assembly. After having the presentation skills lesson led my our TFL Co-ordinator, we then rehearsed the assembly a few more times to ensure students were confident. The assembly was a chance to promote the upcoming road safety week and active travel week and to also make students aware of best travel tips when using public transport. This included how far back to stand from the curb, and what to do if you feel unsafe on a bus. Feedback from heads of year was positive, and stated that students were well rehearsed and came across confidently.
