We work closely with our Police Liasion Officer year around, but in October when the afternoons were starting to get dark they offered to do a personal safety talk to students who might be walking home alone for the first time - Year 7 in particular.

We arranged for one of our Police Officers to come into school and present to Year 7 in assembly (slides attached). the ifnromation included how to close asafe route home, how to avoid making yourself a target and also how to seek support from Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre.

Conversations with students following this assembly showed that many had taken the advice on board and understood how not having a smart phone with them supported them to stay safe (not become a target), and how it was important to choose a well lit route to get home, avoiding isolated spaces.
