About this activity
Suitable for all schools and nurseries.
We know that your schools and nurseries are creative places and your pupils, staff and communities are bursting with ideas of how to get young London moving!
This is your chance to share your school’s original ideas you’ve developed to support curriculum work, different to anything else already listed on the STARS site.
Work with your Junior or Youth Travel Ambassadors (JTA/YTA), your school travel working group and colleagues to introduce elements of active, safer and sustainable travel into your curriculum work and influence your school community’s travel behaviours.
Did you task your history class to explore how Victorian inventions revolutionised travel in London?
Could you ask your art or graphic design class to come up with a new way to present the London underground map?
Tell your story now!
How to evidence your activity
- Involve your borough officer: Share your ideas, agree your objectives and discuss any challenges you face
- Record the impact of your activity. Did putting active travel into a classroom context get pupils thinking about how they could travel more sustainably? Do they have an increased awareness about the inner workings of our public transport system?
- Sign in to STARS to add your story. Explain the activity, add photos, include pupils’ feedback and any resources you used or produced
